CKSCP has organized major
programs in this area including the Community Connections Program,
the Community Partnership Project, the Open World Program, the Domestic
Violence Prevention Program, Municipal and Community Parntership
Program and Municipal Training Program.
Some examples of Professional Exchanges sponsored
by CKSCP:
- September 2007 - Five Ukrainians travel to Cincinnati to participate in the Open World Program sponsored by the Library of Congress. The focus of the program is Accountable Governance.
- June 2007 - Five Ukrainians travel to Cincinnati to participate in the Open World Program sponsored by the Library of Congress. The focus of the program is Public Health.
- September 2006 - Five Ukrainians travel to Cincinnati to participate in the Open World Program sponsored by the Library of Congress. The focus of the program is Public Health.
- September 2005 - Five Ukrainians travel to Cincinnati to participate in the Open World Program sponsored by the Library of Congress. The focus of the program is Independent Media.
- January 2005 - A Cincinnati Police Lieutenant travels to Kharkiv to provide training on transparency in dealing with the public (private citizens and the media) relative to police matters.
- Seven Kharkivites travel to Cincinnati for nine days for a Prosecutors’
Exchange with the Hamilton County (Ohio) Prosecutor’s Office
- A water treatment specialist from the Cincinnati Water Works
travels to southern and central Ukraine for two weeks on an exchange
for the USAID/US-Ukraine Foundation Community Partnerships Local
Government Training and Education Project.
- U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural
Affairs Community Connections Hotel and Restaurant Management
program.
- The Municipal Training Program organized by the CKSCP and the
Intl. Executive Service Corps wins a "Special Achievement"
award from the Reader's Digest Foundation and Sister Cities International.

- 4 CKSCP representatives from the Municipal Training Program
meet with representatives from the Tucson-Alma Alta Sister City
Project, the Intl. Executive Service Corps, the United States
Information Agency, The Eurasia Foundation and Sister Cities Intl.
to evaluate and compare the Municipal Training Programs in each
city.
- 3 architects begin a 2-month study of American Housing sponsored
by the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Housing Initiative. Plans formalized
for a design studio involving The University of Cincinnati (UC),
Miami University, and Kharkiv University faculty and students.
- 2 Cincinnati architects and 1 builder travel to Kharkiv to explore
the creation of a Friendship Park and restoration of the Kharkiv
Choral Synagogue.
